Post-Doctoral Fellow: Position open for a post-doctoral fellow in Mathematical Biology and Disease Modelling.

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Mathematical Biology and Disease Modelling, Modelling Infection and Immunity Laboratory, York University Toronto, Canada

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in Mathematica Biology and Disease Modelling at the Modelling Infection and Immunity Laboratory (MI2), Centre for Disease Modelling, Department of Mathematics & Statistics, York University.

The successful candidate will be expected to play a major role in MI2 international collaborations in Disease Modelling. Travel to visit collaborator laboratories is a required component of this position.

The research will apply mathematical modelling and computer simulation methods to disease modelling questions in Viral Hepatitis, Malaria, and Influenza. Applicants should have significant practical experience in dynamical systems, computational modelling, bifurcation analysis, and stochastic modelling. Experience in data analysis and statistical inference would be an asset. The successful candidate will have excellent English language communication skills (both written and verbal). Previous experience working in an interdisciplinary research environment, and writing scientific articles, is an asset.

Applicants must be within 3 years of having completed their PhD in a field that is relevant to the research project. The appointment will be for one year beginning November 1, 2018 (start date negotiable). The salary will be commensurate with the experience of the candidate in the range of $36,000 to $48,000 CDN (including benefits).
